32 in 32: Mow your Lawn

Focus on yourself. Once someone eliminates wasted energy focused on any external thing – people, circumstances, anything that doesn’t involve your present moment – clarity of thinking ensues. Now if your present moment involves aiding a certain individual/cause, then sure you can focus on that. But even then you gotta’ be right with yourself first because how can you empower others if you aren’t first your best self? As the saying goes, “You can’t pour from an empty cup. Take care of yourself first.” Also, people are often so busy comparing themselves to or watching other people – for positive or negative reasons – that they limit their own efficiency and efforts. Or they are too wrapped up in focusing on how their grass used to look, or how it will look – that they overlook taking care of their lawn in it’s current state. Don’t do that; look at what’s in front of you right now & focus on that. FOCUS.

Eric Thomas – “Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to where you want to be.”
