32 in 32: Forever Peace

Forever Peace is a permanent content state of being. Don’t pursue it; just be you and let it ensue in time. Because as Eleanor Roosevelt once stated, “Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product of a life well-lived.” True happiness is not found, but more so developed. Shaping your reality into your destiny takes time and the shape is often distorted for most of the journey. And because of this distortion, many people give in and abandon their Purpose Search and commitment to their true self. When writing the story of their life, they let someone else borrow their pen. Or perhaps let outside thinking control their hand for a little bit. But if that’s done, your life will not consist of matching thoughts & deeds. And as Thomas Merton once said, “Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.” So due to not following your true journey, order will be disturbed permanently.

Instead, hold your pen tight. Let your reality match your – not anybody or anything else’s – internal visions. Because when there is harmony, you are indestructible towards any invasion – including a physical death. Take David Goggins’ perspective: (29:00) “Having lived the life I lived and seen the other side, not being afraid to attack what was in front of me, has made me happy … (49:28) … When you finally get to that point for me, it’s forever lasting peace. I could die right now on this show and I’m gonna’ be a happy man. So that’s my happiness, is my reflection on the suffering of my journey knowing I never quit, nor was I guided by anybody on this earth. I was guided by something much more powerful, and I listened. And I chose the path of most resistance. Talent not required.”

True contentment is permanent. Even when outside forces attack your position, you’re able to resiliently stay the course. You don’t capsize from an internal dispute within either. This permanent happiness is found through – despite every challenge to your authenticity – staying committed to the pledge, “To thine own self be true.” Honor yourself and contentment will be the crown. Your soul will forever be at peace.

Aristotle – “Happiness is the settling of the soul into its most appropriate spot.”

Gary Zukav – “Every fleet of ships that sails has a mothership – one ship that knows where all of them are going and sets the direction for all of those ships to sail. This doesn’t mean the mothership determines what happens on each of the other ships in the fleet. Life on one of the ships might be mostly pleasant. On yet another ship it might be mostly unpleasant. Now imagine that the mothership is the biggest ship you can imagine … And now imagine that the rest of the boats are not really ships, but little boats. The mothership is your soul and you are one of the little boats. The mothership knows why you are in the water; you may not know all of the time. The mothership knows why you encounter storms. Your job while you have the awesome privilege of being a little boat is to learn how to sail in the same direction as your mothership because you can choose and create anything you want. You can sail in the opposite direction if you want. That is a sure way to find rough water, but as you sail in the direction that your mothership wants to sail, your life fills with meaning and purpose and love … Meaning is your inner compass and as you follow your inner sense of meaning, you are sailing in the same direction that your mothership wants you to sail.”
