Too many people rely on outside factors to give them a confidence jolt. They may need validation from other people; they may need a challenge-free environment; or their mood has to be just right. But this confidence is pretty shallow. Because when adversity hits, or people oppose you, or you’re put in an uncomfortable situation, what’s going to happen then? Ideally, confidence in terms of having pride in who you are and having self-belief in what you’re capable of should always be there. Parents need to be intentional in instilling this sort of confidence in their children. Don’t just focus on how your children presents on the outside with their language, posture, and demeanor but also prioritize getting them to use their past experiences, work ethic, growth mindset, strengths, and formed identity to restore their confidence stock as needed. Especially in adverse times like we’re living in now with the coronavirus spreading, confidence is necessary more than ever. Parent with that in mind.

Peace, Love, and Confidence!
